My Mental Sanctuary

There is one small drawback to this cool dry air. With less moisture in the air that means skin dries out easily and Kaitlin has a small diaper rash. We do have lots of lotion and something called Butt Paste.

I have plenty of lotion for my hands as well.

I blame the weather, although I shouldn't because the weather has been great, just perfect, balmy. It just feels like October already.

I have a nasty bruise underneath my upper arm and I have no idea how I got it. My mutant ability is that I magically attract bruises.

I think Kaitlin has a favorite color already, yellow. I got her some of those connecting plastic bead toys for babies and everytime she grabs one she always grabs a yellow one.

Dragons

The current temperature is 71 degrees. The high will be 78. Perfect day for taking the baby out for a stroll. Which we did.

I made myself some stuffed French toast for breakfast. I stuffed it with Nutella. It's basically a Nutella sandwich that is dipped in the egg mix and fried. I made another one for my husband so he can have it for breakfast for tomorrow. I topped mine with some strawberries and powdered sugar.

It was a perfect day yesterday as well. That was why we ate out in the bistro area of the restaurant. Most people wanted to be inside so the could watch the Texans vs Cowboys game. I'm not much of a football fan. Although I am proud to say that the Cowboys won.

Kaitlin. It used to be my day didn't start until I had my first sip of coffee. Now it doesn't start until I go to her crib in the morning and she smiles at me.

Switched the time of the walk around to the morning before it starts to get hot...and whats the deal? The East it's summer and the West it's winter? It was like 42 desgrees around then this morning in Vegas and meanwhile it was 60 in Maine. Weather is nuts.

Yesterday we got to see a momma bird teach it's fledgling how to fly.

Kaitlin also ate a lot of her rice cereal.

And she had her first sink bath

Back to the weather. Yes it is hot and no I can't open the windows to let the air come in through the screens. I can physically I just choose not to for two reasons. One the air outside is just as hot and our AC works. and Two there are spiders that tend to get inbetween the glass and the screen and these are big. Kaylee tries to smack at them but only hits the glass with her paws.

She goes nuts when a fly gets in here.

Sable is still a big fat priss who won't use a litter box if it is not to her satisfaction. She also tries to bully the other cats. But she loves Kaitlin. A couple of days ago when Kaitlin was napping next to me on the couch Sable was sleeping next to her on the edge as if she was making sure the baby won't roll off. I told her she was being a good cat and gave her a pat on the head. She meowed and then licked Kaitlin's hand.

God I love thise lotion rinse. It works like hair conditioner. Just rub it on after you clean yoruself and after a minute rinse it off. My skin feels so soft.

Uh Nature, it's Spring and April and South Texas. Why is it so freaking cold?

Seriously it's 46 now and supposed to get down into the 30's
