My Mental Sanctuary

Had a bit of a busy day.

Went to Kohls and got some new candles. The only cart/stroller they had was a double stroller. I plopped Kaitlin in one seat nad put her diaper bag in another. After we checked out I noticed a mother with twin boys that were no older than three. Since I had one small bag I was able to put it in the diaper bag and gave her the stroller since I could just carry the one big bag and Kaitlin in my arms.

Went to pick up the pictures at Pennies...except that there was a glitch and the order didn't go all through. They fixed that and are going to mail them to us. They also gave us a coupon and three extra sheets for no extra charge.

I also looked at the boots.

Then came here and gave Kaitlin her lunch and put her in her crib for her nap while I showered and had my lunch...except she didn't nap much. Oh well. I had her in one of her fun chairs and she watched me make pumpkin bread. Plenty of pumpkin left over and I put two spoons of it in Kaitlin's orange veggie mix and gave that to her for her third meal and then I got her to take a nap while I cleaned her bottles, did dishes, cleaned the cat boxes and prepped a package for my parents.

Somehow today I hurt my hip. I placed a mentstral cramp heating pad against my hip and took some tylenol.

Also I lost my phone. Kaitlin found it for me. It was under the couch. One of the cats probably knocked it under there.

Going to puree some of what I made last night for the baby. It turned out delicious and everytime I open the fridge I get to smell it and it is so yummy smelling.

Kaitlin got fitted with orthopedic shoes yesterday and yes they are connected by a metal bar.

Poor girl had a rough night last night. She likes to kick and it's hard with her feet secured like that. She has been raising her legs. I don't know if that will make them stronger or not.

I made a carrot cake on Monday. It's my favorite kind of cake and I also made the frosting, and yes I did the cooking by the book and the cake is delicious, no lie.

I used up the remaining three carrots for my husband. I sliced them up and cooked them in a mixture of water, Country Crock, and brown sugar.

I made him the carrots since he doesn't like asparagus at all, not even steamed or sauteed. I sauteed the green spears in a mix of Country Crock, minced garlic, basil, oregano, pepper and salt and it turned out delicious.

Tonight I'll probably just go easy and make microwave taquitos with some Spanish style rice and a salad.

Remind me not to order the Kung Pao Shrimp from that place ever again.

Next time I'll have something with beef.

Got some of my holiday baking done yesterday. Baked up a loaf of banana bread a batch of pumpkin chocolate chip cookies.

Friday I will be doing the last of the baking as well as packing. Like that songs states. "I will be home for Christmas." I haven't seen the folks since a whole year, actually over a year. I get to see my mommy, my daddy, my brother and the dogs: Patch, Rocco, Darcy and meet the new one, Keira.

I am goingto bring my laptop, although I will need a chord since they do not have a router.

I'm going to see if this water settles. If it does I'll have some gingerale.
