Laptop Woes

Might need to take my laptop in to the Geeksquad or somewhere equivalent due to the fact that it keeps on freezing and needing to be rebooted. At first I thought it was Chrome and after some research it seemed a lot of people had problems with Chrome causing their computers to freeze so I uninstalled Chrome and installed Firefox. Nope it freezes on Firefox and IE. Shit. This is not what I need.

Was there any new software recently installed, including updates to existing programs?

Just the usual Windows downloads but that was a week ago. Weather Channel app also updated a few days ago and another this morning. First freeze was last night.

If you want to save time on the repair, you can try running it in Safe Mode, and then Safe Mode with Networking and see if it still freezes. It'll save the repair guys an extra step.

I urge you strongly to NOT go to Geeksquad if at all possible. Find someone, anyone else to look at it for you. Hell if it's just software related and you have access to all the programs, I'd back up the data you want to keep and just do a wipe and reinstall yourself.

It's actually hardware related it seems.
