and for the WTF department. I just got this message at FFnet.

Subject: Ideas related to fanfiction...

Hello there? You seem to be a fan-fiction writer in the United States, and
well, I just wanted to tell you that I have some ideas that are somehow
related to fan-fiction, and I wonder if you would like to discuss with me
about them. I just wanted to ask someone in the United States about these
ideas - could you perhaps give me some additional thoughts about them?

Also, just wondering - how much are you into fanart and drawing?

That guy has apparently been spamming people at ff.net for months, if not years, with the exact same message. Another writer I follow on LJ was sent the same thing less than a month ago.

I've gotten pretty much that same message twice over the last year or so (just missing the last sentence about fanart and drawing), and deleted both times without answering. I figured at first it was some yutz who just wanted to sucker me into writing his stories for him. (Like I've got time for that!)
I'm not sure about the origin of the first message, but for the second message I noticed his handle was 'Yoshinointhemoonlight7'. That webpage has no stories written or faved, and it directs viewers to another account, yoshinointhemoonlight. This same guy also has accounts for yoshinointhemoonlight2, -3, -5, -6, -8 and -9 (accounts -1 and -4 have been deactivated.) I'm willing to bet your message came from one of those accounts. I dunno what this guy's really after, but he is definitely a spammer.
