Everybody is already going nuts. We went to get a few things from the stores: cereals, bread, bacon, frozen meals and as we walked past the aisle that had all the sodas and stuff, the shelves that usually held the waters were bare.

Now I was still in Florida when Rita struck, but didn't more people die and suffered heat stroke by just trying to leave?

Yeah, they still haven't learned.

Buying bottle water is at least sensible.

If you see them frantically buying bug spray, Roach Motels, chocolates, and nylon stockings, then it's time for a reality check.

We're lucky here in SoCal - all we have to be prepared for is earthquakes.
