spacebabie: River Tam and James Norrington...used when I write crossovers. (Pirate OT3)
I will avoid making jokes such as Tia Dalma/Calypso giving Jack crabs and go on with the review.

The opening was well morbid. The multiple hangings and even hanging a kid, obviously not your standard Disney flick.

had slight element with the start of Jedi. The heroes sneaking around and disguising themselves to find out the whereabouts of Jack, or in actually getting a form of transportation to rescue Jack.

I love the monkey and the parrot teaming up.

Stuff I loved

The scenery, and that one part before they go over the edge. All the stars. Oh it was scenery love. The sky filled with stars and the sea reflecting it. It almost seemed they were in space.

Jack. I just loved Jack. The part with several Jacks was the best, and oooh shirtless Jacks.

Gibbs, poor guy gets his story teller thunder taken away. I loved seeing Jack slap him and then he goes off with Scarlett and Giselle.

Pintel and Ragetti, Ragetti staring up Elizabeth's robe and then Pintel staring up at that fat guy. Pintel trying to order Jack and Barbossa and Ragetti telling him he would vote for him. Damn, when did Rags get so smooth? He knew how to say the words right.

Murtogg and Mullroy. YES! they are back is still the same. I love how they were disgusted with the EITC and the fishmen. They respected being Royal Marines and did not like the way Beckett was handling things, not certain if I like them as pirates. Something about it just doesn't sit well with me.

The Davy and Calypso romance, was nicely done and we were right about the lockets.

Human Davy, oh and I still think he is a bad ass, and I loved his crew, the guy with the eel head, oh so creepy.

Mercer getting tentacle raped to death.

The ship battle with the whirlpool.

The swordfight marriage ceremony

The swordfight with Jones, and Bootstrap.

Beckett's brain breaking and his death.

Sao Feng was also cool, such a bad ass, and he punched Jack.

What I didn't like.

They killed the Kraken at the start, what a dissapointment.

The one guy breaking off his frostbitten toe. What is with them and gross stuff involving toes?

Attack of the 50 foot Tia Dalma...okay that was a bit too hokey.

Norrington. Oh don't get me wrong he pwned all of his scenes and Jack Davenport was as brilliant as ever, but that uniform. I loved the blue and white of the Royal Navy uniform, not that mustard color. Yuck.
And they killed him. BASTARDS! I know I know. I have been through this before with Wash dying in Serenity, but T and T...you two aint Joss Whedon, not nearly as good.

And there were not enough scenes with Norrington. I loved the noble streak at the end and Keira is a lucky gal. I didn't feel envious in the first one, but I did when she kissed Jack, and now she kissed James?

This is the PotC universe and it does appear nobody stays dead.

Orlando still can't really act.

It is better than DMC, but not nearly as good as Curse of the Black Pearl.

I wonder how much was actually edited out to keep it under 3 hours? I hope there is footage of the actual pirate battle at the end considering they went to all the trouble of gathering the pirates lords and then only two ships are shown in combat. When the battle was over both sides seemed to be still at their starting points loving that they got to kick back and take it easy. All the pirate lords survived so apparently they didn't engage the British navy because at least one or two of them should have been taken down.

Ragetti is actually a pretty loyal guy when it comes to Barbosa. He kept that eye safe for so long for his captain, evan after death. Sure Barbosa might have never told him the importance of the eye, but I get the feeling that he probably knew. Technically he could have claimed rights to the Black Pearl or at least the crew. I imagine he is both loyal and well aware of his abilities and limitations so never pursued it.

Couldn't Davy Jones taken a gamble and submerged the Flying Dutchmen and thus drowned the British on his ship? Thus salvaging the chest and relocating it. The Flying Dutchman does submerge quickly. The very act of doing so would throw the British onboard off balance and keep them from firing on the heart.

Super Tia didn't look right. The color tone of her seemed off with the characters in the foreground. Same with the two normal Jacks in the brigg on the Flying Dutchman. Those effects seemed like they might have been rushed at the end.

I nitpick, but I still had a hell of a lot of fun. I hope the rumors of Disney aquiring rights to Prince of Persia video games is true. Those games would be a good follow up series to PotC.

That would have been quick, but that wasn't the British Navy, that was the EITC Navy.
