So once again there is drama in the fandom again and once again I'm on the sidelines.
I really don't want to be drawn into it, because A)I feel split down the middle B) Fandom Drama makes Greg Weisman cry and C) I'm Cramping! I was nearly in tears earlier today it hurt so much.
Instead I'm going to divert everyone's attention and praise the great work of Pete Abrams.
Holy shit Sluggy Freelance has been on fire recently. It's always been a great comic, but it hit a new stride with That Which Redeems and the Oceans Unmoving epics.
and his latest Wayang Kulit is not only great story like with a metaphysical turn into the Torg's Psyche but the art work has been amazing. HOLY FACKING SHEET that rocked.
Go read it. http://www.sluggy.com and yes if you are new it may take a while to get through the whole saga, but it's worth it.

great webcomics
Date: 2006-05-11 05:21 am (UTC)From:"That Which Redeems" actually made me cry; I really shed a few tears, when alt-Zoe was killed. A webcomic made me cry. THAT is TALENT. And "Oceans Unmoving"... AAAGH, what will it take to get Mr. Abrams to put Part III out on the web? So a few people complained that this one storyline moved too slowly; so what? Dammit, I wanna find out what happens next!
I have a few other favorite daily/3x-weekly webcomics:
http://www.brunothebandit.com/ The Web's most loveable anti-hero! And in between the bouts of laughter, you often find something to really think about.
http://www.kevinandkell.com/ I mentioned this one in my third Mating Games story. What would a Furry world really be like? Read and find out!
http://www.schlockmercenary.com/ These people would LOVE Bun-bun and Co. 'nuff said.
All three of these comics all have archives you can read through from the beginning, and mix tremendously long storylines with daily/frequent gags.
http://www.somethingpositive.net/ Sarcasm abounds. Otherwise hard to describe, this one's like beef jerky; you either love it or you hate it. Updated not regularly but frequently. Also has archives for perusing.
http://www.girlgeniusonline.com/
This is where I got the current icon from. Love it, love it, love it! My favorite, hands down and feet tied. Start with the "101 Class", which reprints the first dead-tree comics online and indeed has an archive going back to the beginning. However, you'll either have have to wait about eight months before the 101 class catches up to where the "Advanced Class" of the current adventures begins, or break down and buy some of the comics in order to to catch up with the Advanced Class.

Except for the first month's worth of strips, the archives are available only by subscription to an online comics organization called Modern Tales. So it's hard to get into... but once you do, man, it's addicting!

I also read Get Fuzzy daily online since we don't get a daily paper.
