Inspired by kimberly_t , whose own ficverse inspired the Prequels series, I did a few drabbles.
Jon perched on the edge of the roof and watched the city. He rarely took the time to enjoy the night and feel the wind beneath his wings.
He turned his head at the sound of cooing, his eyes found the pigeon. The delicious aromas from the restaurant beneath him caused his stomach to rumble and watered his mouth. Did he dare to kill the squab and risk the consequences at dawn? No, the main aroma of beef reminded him, his wife had put a brisket in the oven and he did not want to ruin his appetite for that.
Hyena
For years she and her brother were inseparable. She could not remember when she and Jackal were apart for more than a few months, but now he was dead. She had seen his charred body fall to the ground.
She still had Jon and Wolf as team mates, except Jon put his family first and Wolf was frankly, an idiot. Not one of them was as close to her as Jackal was.
Hyena relied on Jackal to hold her back until the right time to strike, now she was going to be strong and rely on her own inner restraints.
Elisa
It took almost an hour for Elisa to finally get Rebecca to sit still on the floor, long enough for Elisa to brush her daughter’s hair. She had to hand her daughter a newspaper and box of crayons.
While Rebecca colored in the black and white pictures, Elisa brushed her daughter’s dark sable brown hair. How beautiful Rebecca’s hair would be in a French braid or soft loose curls. Elisa could give Rebecca such a style for the twins’ fifth birthday.
She paused when she realized Goliath might not be back in time from his trip for their children’s birthday.
Hopefully I'll be able to post the next two parts of Dragon Quest soon.
