I never thought I would be typing these words but,

I HATE MY LITTLE PONY!!!!!

No wait I love My Little Pony. What I am hating is that FIM garbage. THAT IS NOT My Little Pony. Those are not even ponies. If I came across them I'd be afraid they take me aboard their space ship and anal probe me. They are like equine version of Grey's. Take that one Ditzy Derpy one, remover her mane and black out her eyes, there you see?

Kids these days don't know what true ponies are. G1, G2 and G3 are the real ponies. I seen some of these Bronies say that previous generations are ugly. ARE YOU SERIOUS?

Yeah, no, just no.

Those G4's are just WTF I don't even...and Apple Jack, what have you become?

Don't get me started on Pinkie Pie. Dear God kill it with fire. I want to see other characters in other fandoms rip off her head.

I know I played around with the generator and created Pony friends, the animals like Creamcicle the giraffee and Oakley the Moose that came out in the 80s.

I just don't get why everyone thinks it is the shit. It is no where nearly as good as Harry Potter, Avatar:The Last Air Bender, or X-Men First Class...It's somewhat better than Twilight.

When I draw ponies they will look like the real ponies and when I draw other characters from different fandoms I will draw them as real ponies.

I'm so glad I saved my ponies at least Kaitlin will know what the real deal is.

Have you watched the show? It's amazing. (after the first two eps, anyway.)

Its got great characters, animation, and most importantly, the best comedy timing in the vein of classic Looney Toons since Animaniacs.

Also, the show is crack.

Every episode up the grand gala where Fluttershy went nuts trying to befriend the animal.

Some of the episodes do have a fantasy feel but a lot also have elements of the 90's cartoon...don't get me started on that one.

I'm just not a fan of that animation style and I really loathed the episodes that focused on Pinkie Pie, oh poor widdle princess you think nobody wants to be your friend because they don't want to come to your after party-party, boo hoo and get over your obnoxious self, Pinkie Pie.

I do like the new design for Spike though.

I was wondering what I was missing.

It may be nostalgia goggles, but then I prefer Beast Wars to G1 Transformers. The 4kids version of Ninja Turtles over the 80's/90's toon and I do want to check out the new Thundercats toon. Snarf doesn't talk right, just makes cute kitty sounds, doesn't go "Oh noes we are in trouble, snarf snarf" right?

Well, thats because Beast Wars is WAAAAAY better than g1 Transformers and Turtles23K is WAAAAAY better than their original.

And yeah, the new thundercats is pretty great so far, and no, Snarf doesn't talk. And the thunderkittens are really cute and genuinely mischevious!

I didn't like TMNT: Fast Forward, but I did enjoy the seasons before and after. And TMNT: Forever is awesome.

I also prefer Beast Wars to G1/G2. Don't get me wrong, I love me some Transformers. But Beast Wars was a fantastic show all around where G1/G2 was considerably lacking.

Beast Wars was awesome. Turles 2K3 is awesome. As for ThunderCats. I hate to do this, but....

ThunderCats is cornucopia of cliches though. It pisses me off. And I am giving it two more episodes to impress me. But so far.... blech.

You know how "Berserk" took a ton of fantasy cliches and turned them on their heads and challenged and defied expectations? "ThunderCats" does the opposite and does pretty much what you expect it to do, without an original thought thrown in at all. I pretty much hate the entire cast so far. Only character I did like got dull when they made him one of the villains.

I'd like it if Lion-O developed into the villain, trying to restore his racist, imperialistic society. The lizards were genuinely wronged by the cats, and Mumm-Ra had his jewel stolen... I have been given no reason to root for the cats.

i grew up on G1. G2 and G3 never got into.. BUT G4, YES i will say it, i am a brony. i mean G1 had sea ponies, and dark rainbows. G4 has griffons and celestial rulers... i love my G1 and my G4.

As for the look of them? The ponies in all the series are super stylized, I'd just say these are more the Powerpuff Girls of ponies than anything(which, given the creator...)

I like the show, but... I also don't remember the shows I watched as a kid as clearly as some of my friends (like the ones who could recall the plots of more than half the episodes of He-Man).

Heck, I have clearer memories of all the times my babysitter played My Little Ponies with me after school than of the actual show, and how patient she was (and so evil, because I had a hard time thinking my way out of the "villains" she set up and generally had to invent pony superpowers at random).

I remember Megan from the movies, and I remember Spike, and I can rattle off the names of ponies and I still have a ton of G1 ponies, but the show is pretty blurry for me. I think more so than a lot of people who were huge MLP fans back in the 80s, judging by what my friends can remember. I forgot about the purple snot until I read the comments here.

TL;DR - my childhood basis for comparison is fairly vague, and I think the show is cute but I also admit that could be because I just don't have a solid memory of the show to compare it to. And I also liked Powerpuff Girls.

Also, I haven't seen the new toys at all. Gossamer wings? On Rainbow Dash? Are you kidding? That's like putting taffeta wings on an X-15 jet...
