More stuff.

First of all babies do indeed have fingernails and hers were long when she came out. Poor girl kept accidentally scratching her face and kept shaking her little gloves off.

My parents rock. They not only brought with them a delux stroller but also one of those fake fire places that actually generates heat.

My father has been going to Sam's alot and restocked my fridge, freezer and pantry. My crisper actually has veggies in it and we also have seedless red grapes.

the next part is a bit TMI

Nobody ever told me that after you give birth that you bleed for several days like having a real heavy period.

Going to the bathroom has been a bit of a chore. I change pad, I spray clean my self with a squeeze bottle filled with warm water, I dab with TP, gently wipe with a medicated wet cleansing pad and then then spray the pad with an antibacterial spray

Now for a good mommy icon.

Yeah, postpartum bleeding is no fun. My doc gave me some really heavy pads for it before I left the hopsital when Fiona was born, and I went through all of them in a few days. But the p-p bleed generally lasts only a week or so; it should start tapering off soon. If it doesn't start tapering off soon, SEE YOUR DOCTOR. I'm not kidding about that.
I'm not surprised no one told you about postpartum bleeding; everyone's always far more concerned with the baby and a newborn's needs than postpartum stuff for the mom, unless it directly affects the baby (milk letting down, stuff like that.)

I honestly didn't know about the bleeding, but I am woefully ignorant about being a parent or biology in general. Congratulations on having your own spacebabie.

The fingernail thing is a surprise to me as well.

Yeah...that's one of the many things no one ever tells you about for some reason. They're oh-so-happy to share their horror stories of cravings and the other crazy goings-on while pregnant, but the non-baby postpartum stuff? Yeah, forget it.

Super pads! And by super, I mean big-as-your-underwear!

And also (since I didn't get a chance to say it in Revel's post), congrats!
