We have this light blue wool blanket draped over a large plastic hope chest in front of the bed.
When it gets cool I bring it out of the bedroom and have it with me in the living room.
The cats love it. I have it across my lap and Charisma is snuggled right in the center of my lap and Spooky is right next to me. Spooky likes to knead the blanket with her paws before she curls up on it.
Recently I got a blue plaid fleece throw for the other couch, mostly so my husband doesn't have to take one of our blankets down from the bed. Kaylee loves that one. Spooky likes it to. It's so cute when my husband has the throw across his lap and Kaylee is curled up on top of his lap.
