slightly peeved that they stopped selling some of my favorites at Kroger, they stopped selling Frye's Turkish Delights, Flake bars, Cadbury milk, nut and fruit and nut bars, and the Aero bars.
however they now have Jelly Babies, pastilles, Yorkie bar, Bounty, and Joyful's smart Alecs.
I took a nap today, thanks to cold medicne, and espite the fact that I got about ten hours the night prior, and after that nap I felt great, still sick, but a little better.
Pan's Labyrinth.
First of all I don't have any qualms about the whole subtitle thing. I own some subbed anime and I took a few semesters of Spanish, not saying I would be able to watch it completely raw.
Ofelia, love the name, almost like Ophelia, a very pretty name and she was a sweet girl. I got a kick out of her telling a story to her brother while still in utero.
Captain Vidal, what a sadistic bastard, curshing people's faces in, tortures both men and women, shoots children, and it wasn't the shooting at the end that really done him in but Mercedes words.
Mercedes, an awsome character. She became an aunt of sorts to Ofelia, gutsy as she helled the rebels while still under the Captain's nose. I almost clapped when she had stabbedhim twice and made his mouth bigger.
The fantasy creatures were stunning, the movement of the faun and his design, the chirps made by the faeries both in their natural form and insects.
The pale eyeless man...sweet Jesus was he ever freaky. I think that thing creeped me out more as an adult than Freddy Kreuger did as a kid.
The ending was sad, but I like to think that her soul really did jump through the portal
Don't know if I want to own it yet. I still need to get Bowie's Labyrinth first.
