It wasn't as crowded as it was last year. Revel's brother and his cousin, Camera were not there this years. It was just us, his parents, Grandmother, Grandpa Fred, Aunt Randi, and his other cousins, Ranger and Cutter.
Food was good. Plenty of Turkey, Ham, mashed potatoes with the skins in them...hmmmm. Deviled eggs, green beans, corn, and Lasagna. Revel's mother makes a Lasagna every year and while it is very rich, very good and hmmmm yummers. It just doesn't compare to my father's. There were plenty of desserts. There were cookies, Pumpkin pie, Lemon meringue pie, pecan pie and cheese cake cupcakes.
After were digested our grub we gathred in the living room to play Seen it. We divded into three teams. I was on the same team as Revel and Cutter and not to boast or anything, but I helped them PWN the other teams. One question was soo easy. "Which actor was romantically involved with Winona Ryder and Kate Moss?"
Went to bed early that night to prepare for the next day.
I am so glad I work for a store that has their shit together. I had the 6 am-2:30 pm shift and when I arrived there was hardly a place for me to park.
I went in, was informed by my boss that I would be working on the Men's side registers(The other side is the Misses) and went back to the facalty area to clock in. On my way I noticed the line for Misses had stretched and wound all the way to Customer service.
You see we kept the registers chained off, kinda like how they do the rides at a theme park and some of the staff was assigned as line monitiors. They would watch the registers and when one was free they let the next person approach them.
I did not get any sucky customers. YAY. I did get a lot of sympathy because I was really stoppered up. Lot of "Bless your heart" and "You Poor Thing"
Maybe it was the fact that I was tired at the end of the shift, along with really being sick (I had a slight fever of 99.3 when I got home because it contributed to the following
I turned too early and to avoid a head on I backed upand well I didn't stop in time. I front ended a minivan with my rear end. I cant believe I was so stupid that I turned too early and I didn't stop in time. The good thing was there was no dents, no one was hurt and all what happened was a little paint got exchanged...along with insurance. The cop was really nice and sympathetic. He knew I was shaken up and sick and I assured him I was able to get home.
I was surprised I didn't have an accident today going to work.
Holy frell was it ever foggy today and I am talking grade A serious fog. Thicker than Pea Soup thick, couldn't see the traffic light until I was a few yards away thick..even with my headlights at full strength and add to the fact it was still dark out.
I drove at 30 miles an hour in a 45 mile feeder road, half afraid I was going to end up getting lost and the other half afraid I was going to hit something. I did miss the main turn I usually took when I drove into the area and know I missed it when I drove by the back, but I got in at the second opening and since it was a big shopping area I just drove around till I could find Khols, and it was difficult since the store didn't have any neon.
We opened at six am and maybe because it was the day after Black Friday, or maybe it was because of the Fog but it was pretty much dead. Didn't get really busy till after nine and my shift ended at eleven.
I got my paycheck, went home, had lunch, bought some grocceries, bought some booze...Baccardi rum and Bailey's with a hint of caramel, going to put the Bailey's in the blender with some vanilla ice cream.
