My father was Lutheran and my brother and I were baptized Lutheran.
My mother was raised as a Salvationist aka the Salvation Army. My grandparents are both retired Salvation Army Majors and both my uncles...including my gamer uncle are both Captains.
Being a Major is similar to being a minister and being a Captain is similar to being a deacon.
Not many know that the Salvation Army and Salvationists are a sect of Christianity. Revel's brother's girlfriend did not know this.
This one Lutheran church my family and I used to go to was pretty nice except a bit narrow minded...not too narrow minded. They didn't care what color your skin was and The pastor didn't have a problem with his daughter listening to bands like AC DC.
this is where the problem starts. The Pastor thought that the Salvation Army was a cult and he thought the Masons were a cult.
That ruffled feathers of both my parents. I forgot to mention my father is a Mason.
Ideas clashed and we got an excommunication letter.
That didn't stop my family from being Christians. We didn't go to church much afterwards but we still prayed believe in Jesus etc.
My father reads a lot of different religious books. He has the book of Mormon and books on Judaisim, Islam, Buddhisim, Hinduism and the Kabbalah.
As for Lent...we never really did much with Lent. We joke about giving up stuff. We are not Catholics so we didn't try to much. I think my father tried to find something, maybe its because of all that he reds or maybe its because some members of his family are Catholic.
Maybe I'll give up alcohol for Lent, not too much of a sacrifice and I know I'll stick by it.

Granted, I do not have much spirituality, but i enjoy teh study of ancient faiths as a purely scholastic matter. I'd say I worship tradition, history, and beauty.
