I keep hearing about this book series. It seems like everyone wants to read it, but the idea of vampires that can sparkle like fairy dust kinda puts me off. Am I the only one who has no desire to read this series?

I have no desire to, at all. I've heard enough from people I trust to know that it's an overrated, badly written Mary Sue sparkly stupid teenage angsty romance book trying to pass itself as fantasy. So so not interested.

Also, people comparing every character I draw to "so and so from TWILIGHT!!!!!1!" has put me off a bit too.

No, you're not alone. What I've heard of it hasn't appealed to me at all.

Not to mention all the movie actors look like supermodels. :\

Oh, no ... you're not the only one ... I have no plans to go anywhere near it!

From that description it sounds like Laurel K Hamilton's series for the teen set.

Keep it at bay with a sparkly, glittery bookmark shaped like a cross.

I read it (Twilight only, not the sequel), and its actually a fairly interesting read. They have some interesting ideas about vampires, and it hints at werewolves, too. So I might read the second for the werewolves. But if you want a good vamp book: try Peep, by Scott Westerfield.

Of course, I only read because I was at (figurative) gunpoint. xP Its not bad, but not absolutely stunning, either. Twilight, that is. Peep is... to die for.
